ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR AUGUST 8/9

August 6, 2009

The CYO thanks all who supported their fundraiser by ordering Butter Braids. You can pick-up your order next Sunday after the 10am Mass.

It is the responsibility of every Catholic parent to see that their child receives religious education. If your child does not attend Catholic school, he or she should be part of our Wednesday evening PRE program. Registration forms are at all exit tables. Registration will be next two weekends after all Masses. Bring the completed form when you register.

We call to your attention an error in the Mass times in the bulletin. There is NO 6PM Mass on Friday—that should have been 8:15am Mass.

Please note: We will only have Confessions this coming Saturday at 8:30am. There will be no Confessions at 4pm.

Next Saturday we will have the Memorial Eucharist for the Repose of the Soul of Elvis Presley. Music begins at 2:15pm and Mass is at 3:00pm. Because the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin falls on Saturday, it is not a Holy Day of Obligation and since we will use the readings for Sunday, this Mass fulfills your Sunday obligation.

Along with the 3pm Mass we will still have the regular 5pm Sunday Vigil Mass.

There will be a Spaghetti Dinner this Saturday serving from 4:30-7:00pm.

Please take time to sign the petition asking for rejection of the so-called “Freedom of Choice Act” (FOCA). The proposed federal law would make partial-birth abortions legal, would require tax funding of abortions on demand and nullify all state limits on abortion, including requiring parental notification before performing an abortion.
